Performance recommendations for Sage HRMS client when using Aatrix

Created on  | Last modified on

Summary

Third-party antivirus software programs can quarantine Sage HRMS and Aatrix files causing client operation and performance issues, including errors – "There was an error initializing Sage HRMS: The system can’t find the file specified."

Resolution

To prevent third-party antivirus programs from interfering with Sage HRMS, it may be necessary to exclude files and folders that the Sage HRMS client reads and writes to.  It may sometimes be beneficial to lower User Account Controls (UAC) to never notify. If you don’t have adequate permission to certain files and directories, you may encounter issues with updating and saving files such as drafts, histories, and other important files. It’s recommended that the person using Aatrix be listed as an administrator on the local operating system. All relevant Sage directories and must not be set as hidden.

In your third-party antivirus program, add the following exclusions or whitelistings:

  • C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET
  • On a 64-bit machine – C:\%ServerName%\SageHRMSServer
  • On a 64-bit machine - C:\Program Files (x86)\Aatrix Software
  • On a 32-bit machine - C:\Program Files\Aatrix Software
  • HR Client - C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage\Sage HRMS Client
  • PR Client - C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage\Sage Accpac
  • For Windows 10/11
    • C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Roaming\Aatrix Software and C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData
    • C:\ProgramData\Aatrix Software
    • C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Local\Aatrix Software
    • C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Local\Temp\Aatrix Software
