Summary
How to enter a partial payment for an invoice in the Select Invoices to Pay task in Sage 300 CRE Accounts Payable.
Resolution
- Go to Accounts Payable, Tasks, Select Invoices to Pay, On-screen List.
- In the Select Invoices to Pay - Payment Selection window, select the invoice.
- Click Partial at the bottom of the screen.
- Use this window to make a partial payment or enter a lump-sum payment. To make a partial payment, enter the amount in one of the following fields:
- Pay now: Gross amount you want to pay. If there’s still retainage to be held back, leave Pay Now blank and use Net to Pay. Sage calculates the gross Pay Now amount and retainage held to get the Net to Pay amount.
- Net to Pay: Enter the net amount of the payment. (Gross minus discount to apply, minus retainage held, minus deduction to apply.) Sage subtracts the discount from the gross.
- Based on the amount you’re paying, Discount, Retainage, and Miscellaneous Deduction under Apply now will prefill. Sage automatically pays each distribution in full up to the payment amount.
- Optional: Sage pays the distributions in the order you entered them. You can partially pay a specific distribution.
- Click Distributions.
- Select the distribution then click Partial.
- Enter the amount in either Pay Now (gross amount to pay) or Net to Pay.
- Click OK.
- Click Invoices to return to the invoice display of the Payment Selection window.
- Proceed to step 5.
- Click OK to accept the partial payment and return to the Payment Selection window.
- Confirm the amount of the partial payment in the Net To Pay column for the selected invoice.
If the partial payment will pay the remaining non-retainage plus some retainage on a distribution, mark the Retainage Invoices Only box in the selection criteria. This allows you to enter the Net to Pay amount that you need.
