How to download, install, and activate Sage 300 Payroll Updates

In Sage 300, use these steps to make a new Payroll file available.

Description

Use the video and steps below to:

  1. Download the latest payroll update.  
  2. Install the payroll update on your computer. If everyone uses Workstation Setup, install the payroll update on your server instead.
  3. In the appropriate database, activate the payroll update.

Back up your data

Before you install the payroll update, create a full backup of your database. 

Download the payroll update

  1. Log in to support.na.sage.com with your Sage Portal credentials.
  2. If you don’t know your username and password, click Reset My Password and follow the steps.
  3. Open the article Download Sage 300 Payroll Updates. Find the link to the most recent payroll tax update.
  4. Click that link. On the page that appears, click Download. Your browser saves the file based on its settings.
  5. Locate the .ZIP file and double-click to open it.
  6. Move the .EXE file to a location where you can access it.

Install the update

  1. Make sure all users are logged out of Sage 300.
  2. If you installed Sage 300 on your server:
    1. Copy the .EXE file to a temporary folder on the server.
    2. Right-click on the .EXE file, and select Run as Administrator.
  3. If you installed Sage 300 locally on each workstation:
    1. On each workstation, copy the .EXE file to a temporary folder.
    2. Right-click on the .EXE file, and select Run as Administrator.

Activate the update

  1. Log in to the database where you plan to activate the new tax update.
  2. Open Administrative Services.
  3. Double-click on Data Activation.
  4. Choose the tax update and click Activate.
  5. Close the Activation screen.
