Missing toolbar in the text editing area of Notes screen desktop edition.

Summary

Sage 300 desktop Notes sometimes open without the text editing toolbar. Enabling scripting options in Internet Explorer restores the toolbar display.

Cause

Internet Explorer security settings disable Active Scripting and Java applet scripting. Sage 300 desktop Notes rely on these settings to render the toolbar.

Resolution

Enable scripting in Internet Explorer.

  1. Go to Control Panel and open Internet Options.
  2. Open the Security tab.
  3. Select Internet.
  4. Click Custom Level.
  5. Locate Active Scripting.
  6. Select Enable.
  7. Locate Scripting of Java applets.
  8. Select Enable.
  9. Click OK.
  10. Click OK again.
  11. Launch the Notes screen again to confirm the toolbar appears.
