Why can't I export out more than 65,536 rows in Excel?

Summary

When exporting an inquiry or report from Sage 300 CRE to Excel, it stops at 65,536 rows. The export may hang on the percent complete.

Description

Cause

Microsoft Excel has a row limit of 65,536 when exporting data.

Resolution

  1. Save the data as a .txt file.
  2. Import the .txt file into Excel. This should allow exceeding of the row limit.
