Cause
- Invalid email format on customer record
- The email server is blocking Sage
- Corrupted cookies
Resolution
1. Email format is incorrect
- Go to Maintain, Customers/Prospects, and select the Customer ID in question.
- Under the General Tab, select the email box and enter the email in the proper format.
- Remove any commas if multiple email addresses are used
- Separate multiple email addresses with a semicolon
- Verify you can email without error.
NOTE: If the error occurs when batch emailing, note which email the error occurs at. Examine that customer record and the few before and after it. Email in smaller batches to narrow down which customer causes the issue. 2. Webmail configuration
- Select Email Setup from the Maintain menu, or click Edit Email Setup button from the System navigation window.
- Click Use a webmail account, and then click link Add account information.
- Select the type of email service and enter the email address.
- Outlook.com, Gmail and Yahoo are mostly predefined
- If you select Other, you’ll also need to provide the SMTP server and the SMTP port
- Your Internet Service Provider can provide this information
- After you enter the email account, use the Edit and Remove hyperlinks to make changes.
3. We've detected a problem with your cookie settings (Edge)
Delete cookies in your browser and exit out of the browser and retry sending the email.
4. Open a new company
- Go to File and Close Company.
- Create a new company.
- Go to Maintain and Email Setup. Use a webmail account and try it again.
- When it works, close the company and open the original company again.
