Updating the client workstations to the latest version

Summary

When you launch Sage 100 Contractor on the workstation, this procedure will automatically prompt you to update the workstations to the latest version.

Resolution

  1. Ensure the Sage 100 Contractor database server has the latest version.
  2. Verify that the Company databases are also up to date in Database Administration.
  3. Download the latest Sage100Contractor2#####_Setup.exe update file on the server.
  4. Copy the Sage100Contractor2#####_Setup.exe update file to [Data drive]\Sage100Con\Common\Installation on the server.
  5. Rename the Sage100Contractor2#####_Setup.exe file to sage100contractor_setup.exe, removing all numbers and ensuring lowercase letters. 
     TIP: In Windows File Explorer, go to View and turn on the File Extensions. Ensure the file name and extension is sage100contractor_setup.exe instead of sage100contractor_setup.exe.exe. 
  6. Open Sage 100 Contractor on the workstation, which will prompt you to install the latest update.
  7. Click Yes to begin the installation. (No prevents access to the upgraded database.)
  8. After completing the installation, connect to Sage 100 Contractor and open the company database.
  9. Select the Home and Resources tab and About Sage 100 Contractor to verify the latest version.

 NOTE: The Instructions.html file in the [Data drive]\Sage100Con\Common\Installation folder on the server includes the update instructions.
