Transfer isn’t an option in the Sage Fixed Assets Lite Depreciation, Sage Fixed Assets Lite Depreciation for Sage 50 and Sage 50 Fixed Assets.
Resolution
In Sage Fixed Assets Lite Depreciation, Sage Fixed Assets Lite Depreciation for Sage 50 or Sage 50 Fixed Assets:
Stop the depreciation on the asset you're transferring:
Run depreciation on the asset to the month before the transfer date.
Print the Main tab of the asset:
From the Asset Detail view, click thePrint Detailbutton.
Under Print Asset Information: Uncheck all boxes except for Main.
ClickOK.
Change the Depreciation Method on the Asset toOCin all open books.
ClickYes-Current Thru dateon the prompts.
ClickSave.
Create a new asset to continue the depreciation in the new location:
ClickAdd an asset.
When entering the Book information, all Critical Values in all books will be the same as in the original asset.
Enter the Current Thru date into theBeginning Datefield.
Leave theBeginning YTDamount at$0.00.
Enter the Current Accumulated amount from the Asset Detail printout into theBeginning Accumulatedfield.
ClickSave.
On theNotesTab, enter the original and new asset IDs for record keeping.
Optional:Enter another asset with a Negative Acquired Value equal to the Original asset and Depreciation Method of OC. This to allow the Acquired value to tie to older reports.
Close the year, then inactivate the Original Asset and the optional asset from Step 8. This step ensures the Original Asset’s values don't carry into the new year.
Highlight the assets in Asset List View or go to the Asset Detail view of a specific asset.
