Standard reports are pulling data from a different database

Summary

Standard report is pulling data from a different database than the one that is currently open.

Description

This can also appear as "Database login failed" or Error: "An error occured while generating report. Failed to open connection error."

Cause

  • Data Source Name in the SQL database not the Default WINFAS32
  • Data Source Name in the Sybase Database not the Default WINFAS32

Resolution

On the Server where Sage Fixed Assets - Premier server components was installed:

 

  1. Go to: Start, Programs, Sage Fixed Assets, Tools, Database Utility Premier Depreciation & Tracking.
  2. Login as a SA (System Administrator) user, highlight a database, click Configure, Data Source Name: Change back to the default WINFAS32.
  3. Click Next, click Yes, click Finish.

On the machine where the Depreciation - Network client was installed:

  1. Go to: File, Database List Manager.
  2. Highlight database, click Configure, Data Source Name: Change back to the default WINFAS32.
  3. Click Next, Finish.


Note: Repeat steps above if there are more databases listed.
