Summary
SIMPLE TIME ENTRY: The installation hangs at Validating credentials for Microsoft Azure Active Directory after entering Microsoft Entra ID credentials.
This happens during Database Administration, Server Management, Enable Sage Mobile Apps, or proxy server API installation.
Cause
Microsoft Entra ID enables Multi-Factor Authentication by default, which blocks credential validation during the proxy installation.
Resolution
Disable Multi-Factor Authentication for the Microsoft Entra ID account, then rerun the proxy installation.
- Open Windows Task Manager and end the process named Database Administration (32-bit).
- Go to the Azure Portal and sign in using the same Microsoft Entra ID credentials.
- On the Microsoft Azure home page, under Manage Microsoft Entra ID, click View.
- In the Manage menu, scroll down and click Properties.
- At the bottom, under Security Defaults, click Manage Security Defaults.
- If "Enable Security Defaults" appears, select "Disabled (not recommended)," then click Save.
- Enter a reason, such as "3rd-party application can't communicate," then click Save.
- Sign out by clicking your account name, then selecting Sign out and choosing the account.
- Open Database Administration for Sage 100 Contractor and run Install Proxy from Server Management.
