Can I increase the length of the period of inactivity before users get logged out of Web Screens?

Summary

In Web Screens, when you are inactive for 20 minutes, a message says, “You are about to be signed out due to inactivity." Then you see “Session Timed Out. For your security, you have been signed out after a period of inactivity.”

Also known as: auto-logout, idle time log out, duration of session inactivity.

Resolution

 
To increase or decrease the length of idle time before users get logged out of Web Screens:
 
  • Open the web.config file located in <Sage 300 program files>\online\web.
  • Find the link with “sessionState cookieSameSite”.
  • You will see (timeout="20"), the default inactivity time.
  • Modify this number to achieve the results you want.
