Error: "Fiscal Period is locked" when clicking Calculate Payroll

Summary

You received this error in Sage 300 when the Calculate Payroll task can’t access the required fiscal period.

Cause

The Calculate Payroll task can’t access the required fiscal period information.

This issue occurs when:

  • The Pay Period End Date or Check Date doesn't exist in the Common Services, then Fiscal Calendar.
  • Sage locks the fiscal period in the Common Services, and Fiscal Calendar.

Resolution

Open Common Services, then Fiscal Calendar to configure fiscal periods.

Add the required fiscal year

If the payroll dates fall outside the available fiscal calendar, add the fiscal year required for payroll processing.

Unlock the fiscal period

If the payroll dates fall within a locked fiscal period, unlock the period before you calculate payroll.

NOTE:

Verify that both the Pay Period End Date and Check Date exist in the fiscal calendar before you calculate payroll.
