Description

For proper calculation of Massachusetts State Income Tax for a taxpayer or spouse who has blindness.

Resolution

In order to properly calculate MASIT withholding for taxpayers who have blindness and/or their spouse follow the steps below:

  1. Open the employee record by clicking Maintain, Employees/Sales Reps and selecting the employee record from the Employee ID drop-down.
  2. Select the Withholding Info tab.
  3. Enter the number "1" in the Special 2 Allowances box if a taxpayer and/or their spouse has blindness.
  4. Click Save from the top toolbar to save the changes to the employee record.
