Error: "When Sage 50 is syncing with Sage HR, you cannot close the Sage HR Sync window" and payslip sync fails

Summary

Error: "When Sage 50 is syncing with Sage HR, you cannot close the Sage HR Sync window. You can continue working in other areas of Sage 50 until the sync completes and then you can close the window." Unable to sync payslips in Sage 50 Accounting.

Resolution

  1. Close Sage 50 and run the latest tax update again. Find it at Sage 50—U.S. Edition: Download Portal.
  2. Open Sage 50 but open a sample company (such as Bellwether Garden Supply) first.
  3. Open your actual company and log in as the data owner. Sync the payslips again.

 NOTE: If you have to reinstall Sage 50 2024, reinstall the latest tax update to apply the Sage HR fixes.
