IMPORTANT: These are updated requirements for Sage 100 Contractor version 2026

Minimum requirements

 CAUTION: We provide these requirements as a guideline for Sage 100 Contractor. We recommend discussing your specific setup with a consultant for the best performance and compatibility. 

We don't support versions of Windows earlier than Windows 11 or Windows Server 2016. Don’t install this update on earlier versions, or you won’t be able to open Database Administration or Sage 100 Contractor.

Standalone workstation

 NOTE: For a single-user setup, you can host Sage 100 Contractor, License Administration, and Database Administration on one machine  

  • Processor: For Windows 11 machines: Intel® 8th-generation Core processor or AMD equivalent
  • Memory (RAM): 4 GB
  • Storage: Solid-state Drive (SSD) with 200 GB of free disk space
  • Operating System: Windows 11 Pro (64-bit)
     NOTE: Windows 10 and earlier and Macintosh operating systems aren't supported  
  • Database Engine: Sage 100 Contractor includes MS SQL 2019 Express 
  • Monitor: 1280×1024 or higher resolution
  • Internet: Required for licensing and registration
  • Printer: Printer with a Microsoft-certified printer driver
  • Other software: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8, PowerShell required

Recommended configuration

 NOTE: For multiple users, we recommend using Sage 100 Contractor client/server setup. It can function in either a workgroup or domain environment. 

Server

  • Processor: Intel® 8th-generation Core processor or AMD equivalent
  • Memory (RAM): 16 GB
  • Storage: Solid-state Drive (SSD) with 200 GB free disk space, separate drives for application and database are recommended
  • Network: High-speed (preferably gigabit Ethernet) wired network, Workgroup, or Domain environment
  • Operating System: Windows Server 2022, Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2016
     NOTE: Windows 10 and earlier and Macintosh operating systems aren't supported  
  • Database Engine: MS SQL 2019
     NOTE: Windows Server 2022 doesn't support MS SQL 2016  
  • Monitor: 1024x768 or higher resolution
  • Internet: Required for licensing and registration
  • Other requirements: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8, PowerShell required

Workstation Client

  • Processor: For Windows 11 machines: Intel® 8th-generation Core processor or AMD equivalent
  • Memory (RAM): 4 GB
  • Network: High-speed (preferably gigabit Ethernet) wired network
  • Operating System: Windows 11 Pro (64-bit)
