How to manually remove the program

Resolution
  1. Back up each company, follow How to make a backup
    Note: It is recommended to save the backup(s) to the desktop, then copy onto removable media (such as a USB drive).
  2. Find and note the program path and data path for each currently installed version of Sage, refer to How to find data path and program path
  3. Open Control Panel, and then Programs & Features.
    • Uninstall any listed versions of the following:
      • Pervasive PSQL Workgroup
      • Actian PSQL v13 Workgroup R2
      • Peachtree Accounting
      • Sage 50 Accounting
      • Sage Integration Services
      • Sage 50 Payroll Sync Wizard
      • Sage 50 Intelligence Reporting
        Note: Do not reboot if prompted.
    • Close Control Panel
  4. Browse to C:\ProgramData\ (32-bit & 64-bit operating systems).
    • If present, delete the following folders:
      • Sage
      • Pervasive Software
      • Actian
  5. Browse to C:\Program Files (32-bit operating system) or C:\Program Files (x86) (64-bit operating system).
    • If present, delete Pervasive Software folder
    • If present delete Actian folder
  6. Rename the program path directory found in step 2.
  7. Rename the data path directory found in step 2.
    Note: Once all companies have been backed up, and the backup(s) moved to removable media, the data path and program path directories can be safely deleted, if desired.
  8. Browse to C:\Users\[Windows Username]\AppData\Local.
    • if present, delete the following folders:
      • Aatrix Software
      • Sage
      • Sage Software
  9. Browse to C:\Users\[Windows Username]\AppData\Roaming.
    • If present, delete the following folders:
      • Aatrix Software
      • Sage
      • Sage Software
  10. Browse to C:\Users\[Windows Username]\AppData\Local\Temp.
  11. Press Ctrl+A keys to select all files, then press Delete (skip any files that can not be deleted).
  12. Browse to C:\Windows.
    • Note: Exercise extreme caution deleting items from the Windows directory; delete only the listed items
    • If present, delete the following:
      • PeachInst folder
      • PeachWLog.xml
      • pvsw.log
      • priorpervasive.xml
      • U2LPeach.ini
  13. Browse to C:\Windows\Temp.
  14. Press Ctrl+A keys to select all files, then press Delete (skip any files that can not be deleted).
  15. Browse to C:\.
    • If present, delete the folders pvsw and pvswarch
    • If present, delete any file named ActianZen_v[version number]_Install.log and/or ActianZen_v[version number]_Patch.log
  16. Press Windows+R keys.
  17. Open the Registry Editor: Type Regedit, and then click OK.
    1. Back up the registry, follow How do I backup or restore registry keys in the Windows Registry Editor?.
    2. Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software.
      • If present, delete the following items:
        • Peachtree
        • PEACHW Release [number]
        • Sage 50 E-mail Writer (any versions indicated)
        • Sage Peachtree
    3. Browse to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\.
      • Delete the following items, if present:
        • Peachtree
        • Pervasive Software
        • PEYX489ZK
        • Sage
        • Sage Technology
        • Sage Software, Inc.
    4. Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node.
      • Delete the following items, if present:
        • Peachtree
        • Pervasive Software
        • PEYX489ZK
        • Sage
        • Sage Technology
        • Sage Software, Inc.
    5. Close Registry Editor.
  18. Delete any remaining Sage 50 desktop shortcuts.
  19. Restart the computer.
