Setting up a new rate table for crew pricing

Note: This feature is available only if you have a license to use Crews.

To set up a new rate table:

  1. Open the Rate Table window in one of the following ways:
    • On the ribbon, from the Crews group on the Data tab, click Rate Tables.
    • In classic view, select Database menu > Crews > Rate Tables.
    • From the spreadsheet, right-click in a rate table column, and then select Edit Rate Table from the shortcut menu.
  2. Use the Source option to specify whether to save the new rate table to the estimate or to the standard database.
  3. Click [Add].
  4. Complete the fields at the top of the window.
  5. Click [Resources] to open the Resource List. A list of labor or equipment resources displays, depending on the type of table (Labor or Equipment) you are setting up.

From the list, select the resources to use in the rate table. As you select resources, they display in the rate grid.

When you finish selecting resources, close the Resource List.

  1. In the Unit column, select the unit of time to use for calculating each resource's total rate.
  2. In the Base Rate column, enter the cost per unit for each resource.
  3. (optional) Add columns to the rate grid for other costs that you want to include in the resources’ total rate. For example, you may want to include costs for vacation, dues, or worker’s compensation in a labor rate table, or include costs for fuel, maintenance, and tires in an equipment rate table.
  4. (optional) Enter resource rates for each column you added in step 7. You can enter a rate as a percentage of the base rate, or as a fixed amount per unit of time.
  5. When you finish setting up the rate table, click [OK] to save it.
  6. Set up additional rate tables in the same manner. When you finish, click [Close].

Tips:

  • You can use Edit Rate Table from the shortcut menu to copy a rate table from an estimate to a standard database or from a standard database to an estimate.
  • Changes to a rate table affect only future take off items. To apply changes to existing items, select Data tab > Reprice group > Reprice Crews (in classic view, select Pricing menu > Reprice Crews).
