Database updater will not launch
Description

Database updater shows in task manager with CPU usage but never launches or the message "INVALID DATABASE VERSION The Company ID:xxxx has not been updated for Sage Businessworks. Please execute the DBUpdate program from the start menu to insure that all databases have been updated to the most recent level." displays when accessing a company.

Cause
Resolution
  • Attempt the database update directly at the server (or another workstation) by going to Start, Sage BusinessWorks, Database Update
  • Trusteer Rapport, Webroot or another security software is installed on the computer and the security settings of these softwares may be causing the task not to launch
    • Uninstall Trusteer Rapport, then relaunch the database update by going to Start, Sage BusinessWorks, Database Update. The updater should launch successfully
    • Trusteer Rapport can cause performance issues and other program conflicts
    • Users may also see improvements with the Windows operating system performance once Trusteer is uninstalled
