Resolution | [BCB:4:Operating system warning:ECB] 1. Reposition the Window - Open the desired task window.
- Press the Alt+Spacebar keys and then type M.
- Press Up Arrow key on your keyboard one time.
- Move the mouse around without clicking any buttons, the window is now attached to the mouse cursor.
NOTE: Sometimes, only the border outline of the window will be attached to the mouse cursor. - Move the task window or outline to the center of the screen, and then click left mouse button.
- Resize the window as appropriate by clicking and dragging the window corners.
- Click Close to close the task window.
- Open the task window.
- Confirm the window is visible.
2. Set icon to Run as administrator - Close Sage.
- Right-click Sage Icon.
- Select Properties.
- Select Compatibility tab.
- Select Run this program as an administrator box.
- Start Sage and verify your task window opens correctly.
3. Modify text size using Personalize - Close Sage.
- From your desktop, right-click, and then select Personalize.
- Click Display.
- Change the setting to Smaller (100%), click Apply, and then restart the computer.
- Verify your task window displays properly in Sage.
4. Conflict with the Windows Theme - Close Sage.
- From your desktop, right-click, and then select Personalize.
- Change Windows Theme to Basic or Classic.
- In Windows 10 select a high contrast theme.
- Click Yes if prompted to save changes.
- Verify the screens now open without issue.
5. Recreate the Positions key - Close Sage.
- Press the Windows+R keys.
- Type regedit in the Open box.
- Select File, Export and save a backup of the registry.
- Click Save.
- Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Peachtree\Version\[Version}\, right-click Positions key and select Delete.
- Close Registry Editor.
- Verify the window is visible.
- If you're on a terminal server, repeat these steps for the other users.
6. Data corruption - Restore an earlier backup into a New Company.
- Verify your task window opens correctly.
7. Create a clean expendable folder - Create a clean data folder and expendable file cleanup.
- Verify issue no longer occurs.
