Error: A job cost interface failure occurred (SQL)
Description
Cause

Sage 300 CRE and Sage Estimating integration issues:

Cause 1: The link between Sage Estimating and Sage 300 CRE is corrupt

Cause 2: If you migrated a standard database or an estimate that was integrated with job cost in Estimating (Pervasive), you need to perform a few additional steps to reintegrate the standard database or estimate in Estimating (SQL).

Cause 3: Estimating integration errors.

  • In newer versions of Sage SQL Estimating or Sage 300 CRE, you may see the error: "A Job Cost plug-in file cannot be found" or "A job cost interface failure occurred" with a similar detail message noted below.
  • In the Estimating Management Console, in the Job Cost Info section, you may receive the error "Job Cost System Load Failure" when clicking on the dropdown list and selecting Sage 300 Construction.
  • Nothing happens when clicking the Export to Job Cost button.
  • Export to Job Cost is not active in SQL Estimating.
  • Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate is not installed on the computer.

Sage 100 Contractor and Sage Estimating integration issues:

Cause 1: The link between Sage Estimating and Sage 100 Contractor is corrupt

Cause 2: The version of Sage 100 is incompatible with Sage Estimating. Sage 100 23.1 is not compatible with Sage Estimating version 20.1 or earlier. This is noted in the install guide KB 112087.

Cause 3: Upgraded Sage 100 Contractor to 24.1 and use Sage Estimating
