To configure your Gmail account: - Sign in to your Google account
- Click your avatar in the upper left (initials or picture icon) and select Manage your Google account
- Click Security on the left
- Scroll down to the Signing in to Google section
- If not already on, turn on 2-Step Verification and follow the steps to enable this feature
- Once 2-Step Verification is enabled and set up, go back to the Security page and scroll to the Signing in to Google section
- You should now see an option for App passwords
- Click the arrow, then sign in the prompt
- In the App passwords screen, click the arrow for Select app, then choose Other (Custom name)
- Type in Sage 100 Contractor, then click Generate
- Highlight and copy the app password in the box, then paste it into a Notepad or Word file
- Click Done
In Sage 100 Contractor: - Open the report printing window for any report (like 2-2 Balance Sheet, or printing a 3-2 invoice)
- In the toolbar click the email icon (white envelope)
- At the bottom, click Email Settings
- Click the third option Send email using this alternative SMTP connection
- Enter the following in the setup:
- Mail Server: smtp.gmail.com
- Port#: 587
- Check box for Requires authentication
- Check box for Uses SSL
- Email address: Your @gmail.com email address
- Password: Copy and paste the app password you created in your Gmail account earlier
- Click Save
- Click Cancel (unless you would like to email the report)
When setting up your Direct Deposit email, Vendor ACH receipt email, or Dispatch Board email, these settings will already be in the fields for the alternate SMTP option, so you would just select it and save. [BCB:154:Chat 100 Contractor US:ECB]
