How do I export or import data?

Exporting

  1. Click File, Select Import/Export.
  2. Select the desired type of data to export (Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, etc.).
  3. Select the desired data to export.
  4. Click Export.
  5. On the Filter tab, set the filters as desired.
  6. Select the Fields tab.
  7. Check Show next to any fields you wish to include.
  8. Uncheck Show next to any fields you don’t wish to include.
  9. Select the Options tab.
  10. To include headings in the exported file, check Include Headings.
  11. To change the destination location or file name, click the button below Import/Export File.
  12. If desired, change the If Export File Exists option.
  13. Click OK to export the file. When the process completes, the window will close to the Select Import/Export window.

Importing

 TIP: Export a copy of the journal or record you would like to import to use as a template to import with. 

  1. Click File, Select Import/Export.
  2. Select the desired type of data to Import (Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, etc.).
  3. Select the desired data to import.
  4. Click Import.
  5. On the Fields tab, make sure to have checkmarks in all the fields that you want to import. Clear the checkmarks in the ones you don’t.
     NOTE: For each type of data, there’s a set of required fields. Consult the Sage 50 Help for specifics (click Help, Help Topics, and search for import/export field definitions. 
  6. Use the Move Up and Move Down buttons to rearrange the fields so they are in the exact order as in the import file.
  7. Select the Options tab.
  8. Click the button below Import/Export File to select the import file.
  9. If the first row of the import file contains column headers, check First Row Contains Headings.
  10. Click OK to import the file. When the process completes, the window will close to the Select Import/Export window.
