I am missing my custom reports
Description
Cause
  • Damaged RPTDATA.DAT file in the company data folder
Resolution

Section 1: No previous customized reports

  1. Browse using windows explorer to the company data folder. Refer to How to locate company directories, for information on how to locate the company data folder.
  2. Rename the RPTDATA.DAT file to RPTDATA-OLD.DAT.
  3. The program will create a new file when the company is re-opened.

Section 2: Recovering custom reports from a backup file

  1. Browse using windows explorer to the company data folder. Refer to How to locate company directories for information on how to locate the company data folder.
  2. Find a recent backup and copy and paste to the desktop.
  3. Right-click on the .ptb file and changed the extension to .zip and click enter.
  4. Right click on the .zip file and select Extract All.
  5. Follow the extraction wizard till its completed.
  6. Open the extracted folder and right-click then RPTDATA.DAT file and select Copy.
  7. Browse to the data location of the company again and delete the RPTDATA.DAT file in the folder and Paste the RPTDATA.DAT file recovered from the backup.
  8. Now you should be able to see your reports.
