Cause

Possible issues withg files or older permissions where the install files are located or Windows Operating System.

Step 1: Locate Sage 50 Accounting XXXX.msi

  1. Click Browse and navigate to the install files. Refer to How to locate install source?.
  2. Open the peachw folder.
  3. Open the Install folder.
  4. Select Sage 50 Accounting XXXX, then Open.
  5. Click OK in the message box and the repair should proceed; if the issue continues, proceed with the following sections.

Note: If running a repair, you must uninstall the program to properly execute the following steps.

Step 2: Run _setup.exe

  1. Navigate to the install files, referring to How to locate install source?.
    • If your install source refers to a RarSFX folder in the temp folder and it isn't present, run the Sage50_20XX.X.Upgrade.exe from the updates folder in the datapath to recreate it
    • If you can access the install source listed, proceed with following steps
  2. Open the peachw folder.
  3. Open the Install folder.
  4. Select the _Setup.exe file and install the program.
  5. Verify that the program installs without errors.

Note: If this is a network and the file is not in the above location, you can also follow steps 2 and 3 and run the MSI file from the PeachtreeinstallerXXXX folder.

Step 3: New installation folder

  1. In the Search or Run box, type eventvwr. This will bring up the Windows Event Viewer.
  2. Click Windows Logs, Application. If you see MsiInstaller listed as the source, there is a problem with either the operating system or the installation folder.
  3. Download the latest version of the software.
  4. Launch the installation and/or repair.

Step 4: Damaged windows installer

If downloading a new installation package did not resolve the issue and you continue to receive the error, the Windows Installer component on your computer is damaged and may require a Windows repair. Consult your local IT professional for Windows issues.
