These steps only work on the desktop version of Sage 50 Accounting. If you're using Sage 50 Cloud, you'll need to rename the company folder. See the second section.
Close Sage 50 Edition.
Press the Windows+R keys or click Start, and then click Run.
Type regedit in the Open box.
Click OK.
Select File, and then select Export.
In the Export range, select All.
Type Sage 50, and then press Save. This will back up the registry.
Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Peachtree\Version\(Your Version #)\Open History\(Your Sage 50 Flavor).
On the right side of the screen, it lists the companies and their directories that have been opened on this computer. For example, Company0, Company1.
Right-click each company you want to remove from the list, and then select Delete.
CAUTION:
Don’t delete the "Default" line
When asked Are you sure you want to delete this value? Click Yes.
Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Peachtree\Version\(Your Version #)\Options\(Your Sage 50 Flavor).
Right-click lastcompanyopen, and then click Delete.
Right-click lastcompanyopenlong, and then click Delete.
Right-click lastcompanyopenshort, and then click Delete.
Close Registry Editor.
Verify the companies are no longer listed.
NOTE:
This task must be performed on each machine if there are multiple machines that need companies removed from these lists. The company won’t be deleted and won’t reappear on the list again unless it’s reopened.
