| How can I tell if I am mapping my workstation to the correct data location? |
Resolution | 1. Sharing from the server - Verify your data path on the server.
- Share out one level above the folder that contains your company directories.
- This is usually the folder above Company
EXAMPLE: If your server's data path is C:\Sage\Peachtree\Company, share the Peachtree folder - Share the folder with full control to the Administrator and System groups.
- Also add the specific Windows users that will be using Sage 50.
- Verify you have your data file permissions correctly set.
2. Map the drive on the workstation - Follow the steps to map the network drive
- Choose whichever unused drive letter you like for the mapping
- Don't map directly to a specific company's directory
EXAMPLE: If the server's data path is C:\Sage\Peachtree\Company, map the Peachtree folder - Company directories are inside the Company folder
- When you open up your mapped drive, make sure you see the folder named Company.
- You can further verify this is the correct location as follows:
- Find the PEACHDAT.LOC file in the Company folder.
- Right-click PEACHDAT.LOC and select Open with, then Notepad.
- When you open the file in Notepad, it will display just a year. Make sure this is the same year as your version of Sage 50.
EXAMPLE: If you have Sage 50 2024, then the PEACHDAT.LOC file needs to say 2024 - If the years don't match, Sage 50 won't install or run. You'll need to remap the drive.
