How do I convert my company data?

NOTE:

You can only convert data from versions six years back or newer. For older versions, you'll need to send the data in to have it converted. See Error: “This company...is too old to be converted."

Convert company data following an upgrade

  1. Open Sage 50.
  2. Go to File, and select Open Company.
  3. Open the desired company.
  4. The conversion wizard will start.
  5. Press Next on the Introduction page.
  6. Press Next to confirm the company.
  7. Create backup, after backup press Next. Create a backup to proceed.
  8. The conversion will start. Select Finish when the conversion completes.

Converting company data originating from a different location

  1. Make a backup of the company from the other location.
  2. Restore the backup to restore the backup at the current location where you intend to convert it.
  3. Once the restore completes, the conversion wizard will begin automatically.
  4. Follow the prompts in the wizard until the conversion process begins.
  5. Once the conversion completes, click Finish, and the company will open automatically.
