Where are my downloaded installation files?

To open the Windows File Explorer, click the Windows Start button, and in the Search box, type File Explorer. Press Enter. You can then browse to the directory that you need.

The default directories for the downloaded installation files are below:

Downloaded from website

  • Sage 50 2024
    • Base Install - C:\Sage\SAGE50_2024_0_0
  • Sage 50 2023
    • Base Install - C:\Sage\SAGE50_2023_0_0

Downloaded in program via Check for Updates

  1. Locate your data path.
  2. In the data path, locate the Updates folder.
  3. In the Updates folder, the Upgrade installation file for each version and update will appear.
    • Sage 50 2024
      • Base install - Sage50_2024.0.0.Upgrade.exe
    • Sage 50 2023
      • Base install - Sage50_2023.0.0.Upgrade.exe

Custom install location

If you customized the directory for downloaded installation files, you can use the INI file to find the installation source.

  1. Locate the INI file for your version.
  2. Right-click the INI file and select Open with and then Notepad.
  3. Scroll down and look for the line that says, InstallSource=.
  4. What follows the = sign is the directory which holds the original installer for your program.
  5. Copy the directory and paste it into the address bar of a File Explorer window to visit it.
