Q: What is the Sage 50 Educational Version?

A: The Sage 50 Educational Version (aka the student version) is a Sage 50 desktop version valid for 14-months upon registration and DOES NOT include the cloud-connected features.

It is provided to schools and educational institutions that teach Sage 50 either as a standalone course or part of their curriculum, e.g., Accounting or Business Studies, and their students, who would use it to train.


Q: How would educators and students obtain the Sage 50 Educational version?

A: They would need to signup with our Sage Educational Partner program. They can do so on the following websites:

Educators: https://www.sage.com/en-us/about-us/education/instructor/

The above website includes the registrations forms as well as the downloads for the educational version.

Q: What is the difference between the registration codes the educators received vs the students?

A: The educator's registration codes include an Account ID, which allows them to install the educational version on as many of their labs as required.

The student's registration codes do not include an Account ID, are only intended for single use.


Q: Is the Sage 50 Educational Version free of charge?

A: Yes, the software is free of charge.


Q: Where do I get the data files that come with the book?

A: The publisher of each textbook has a different set of files, so you will need to contact the publisher of the book you are using.

Q: I filled out the form for my activation codes but did not receive it.

A: Sometimes, the email response gets blocked by your firewall/spam ware, or the email gets sent to your junk/spam folder. If you still did not receive it, please email [email protected]. In the email, please mention what Sage 50 version/year you require


Q: Sage 50 is not accepting the registration codes I received.

A: This error typically happens when the Sage version/year you have installed doesn't match the Sage version/year key codes you have requested. Please double check you have installed the correct version and then re-register for the right set of registration codes.


Q: I need technical help.

A: Sage provides technical support for the Instructor version only. Instructors can call support or email [email protected].

Students should contact their instructor for support, as Sage does not provide technical support for the Student version. However, we have compiled a list of FAQ's and online resources to help you through your educational journey with Sage.
