| What dates should I use when I process Generate Rent Roll in Property Management? |
Resolution | [BCB:5:Third-party support:ECB]
Dates in the Generate Rent Roll task:
- The Cutoff Date you enter in the Generate Rent Roll task is compared to each recurring charge's Next Date. If the Next Date is on or before the Cutoff Date, a charge entry is created. It is recommended that you use the last day of the month as your Cutoff Date when you process Generate Rent Roll. This ensures that all charges with a Next Date that month are created, that it captures any mid-month scheduled increases or changes or prorations, and that vacancy loss calculations and Straight Line Rent adjustments are done correctly.
- The Transaction Date you enter is usually the date that the charges are actually created. This date is used for reporting purposes.
- The Accounting Date you enter determines the accounting period the entries post to in General Ledger. This date is also used for reporting purposes.
