How do I back up my Service Management data files?
Description

Resolution
You can back up Service Management data files using File Tools. However, Service Management data files are saved in a separate location from your other accounting data files. Before you use File Tools to back up your Service Management files, determine the location of those files as follows:

  1. In Sage Desktop, verify File Locations:
    • Versions 16.1 and later: Applications, Common Tasks, File, Company Settings, File Locations.
    • Versions 15.1 and older: Tasks, Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate, Common Tasks, File, Company Settings, File Locations.
  2. Scroll to SM Data and make a note of the path in the Data Folder box. If the Data Folder box is blank, then your Service Management data is located in the current data folder.
Tip: If you have not specified a location for your Service Management data, your Service Management data files are located in the SMData folder within your accounting data folder.

After you locate your Service Management data files, use the File Tools utility to browse to the location of your Service Management data files and back up those files. See the link below for general instructions on using File Tools to back up data files.
