| Resolution | [BCB:3:Network warning:ECB]
- From the workstation, ping the server by name.
- To run a Ping test at the workstation, go to the Windows Start button, type CMD and click Open
- At the command prompt type ping [server name]
- For example, to ping a server called server1 the command would show:
- ping server1
- Note the IP address that is being returned
- It will display with an IP address that is a series of numbers that look like xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
- From the server run ipconfig to get the actual address of the server.
- To run ipconfig:
- Select Start, Run and type CMD and press OK
- Type ipconfig
- Hit Enter
- Review the list for the IPv4 address.
- Make note of the IP address being returned
- It will display with an IP address that is a series of numbers that look like xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
- While still at the server check the IP address that shows in the bwserver.ini file
- At the server browse to ..\Sage\BWProg\bwserver.ini
- Open the file
- Review the file for the server address
- Make note of the IP address listed under server
- It will display with an IP address that is a series of numbers that look like xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
- Compare the IP addresses found in steps 1, 2, and 3. All three addresses should be the same.
- If the IP address of the results of ipconfig at the server and ping test at the workstation do not match. Reinstall Sage BusinessWorks on the server and then confirm the addresses again
- If IP addresses are still not matching work with your network technician to determine why name resolution is not occurring
