How do I create a change order using Project Management?

You can enter a new change order when you are ready to approve one or more existing change requests or create the change order first and enter the change requests on it.

  1. In Project Management, select Contract Control, Change Orders.
  2. Click New.
  3. Enter or select a Job, a Number, a Description, and a Date for this change order.
  4. Enter the name of the person you are sending this change order to in the To field. Enter your name in the From field.
  5. Enter the amount of time the change affects the schedule in the Schedule impact field and the new job completion date in the Revised completion date field.
  6. If you use the Contracts application, enter a Contract item.
  7. Set the status to Approved.
  8. Select the Release to accounting check box.
  9. Select the Revise contract amount check box.
  10. Click Select Change Requests to add existing requests or New Change Request to create a new request for this change order.
  11. If you selected New change request, enter the amounts applicable to Price and/or Cost Estimate changes. For more information, see How do I enter / create a change request using Project Management change management?
    Note: If you select create New Change Request, you will click close once finished entering all the information. The changes will be saved once the Change Order is saved.
  12. Click Next Action and select Update Job Estimate.
    Note: If you want a price only change for the contract amount, do not select Next action, prefill estimate on change request and do not enter any amounts on the cost estimate view.
  13. Click Yes to save the change request.
  14. Select whether you want to send the estimate as Pending or Approved, and then click OK.
