Create a Project Management change order

You can enter a new change order and select existing change requests, or you can create the change requests as you create the change order.

  1. In Project Management, select Contract Control, Change Orders.
  2. Click New.
  3. Enter or select a Job, a Number, a Description, and a Date for this change order.
  4. Enter the name of the person you’re sending this change order to in the To field. Enter your name in the From field.
  5. Enter the amount of time the change affects the schedule in the Schedule impact field.
  6. Enter the new job completion date in the Revised completion date field.
  7. If you use the Contracts application, enter a Contract item.
  8. Set the status to Approved.
  9. Select the Release to accounting checkbox.
  10. Select the Revise contract amount checkbox.
  11. Click Select Change Requests to add existing requests. You can also select New Change Request to create a new request for this change order.
  12. If you selected New change request, enter the amounts applicable to Price and/or Cost Estimate changes.
  13. For new requests, click close once finished entering all the information. The changes save when you save the change order.
  14. Click Next Action and select Update Job Estimate.
  15. Optional: For a price only change, don't select Next Action and Prefill estimate on the change request. Don't enter any amounts on the Cost Estimate view.
  16. Click Yes to save the change request.
  17. Select whether you want to send the estimate as Pending or Approved, and then click OK.
