I upgraded the MyAssistant server, or I need to move MyAssistant license from one workstation, server or user to another.

Resolution

Note: If you are trying to activate on a second machine for the same user, you will need to purchase an additional license.

Versions 20.3 and earlier:

All licenses in MyAssistant are tied to both the machine name and the Windows Profile they are activated under.

The license must be released before it can be activated for another machine or Windows user or after upgrading MyAssistant on the server - it does not have to be released for an upgrade on a workstation for the Designer or basic user licenses.

Contact Sage Support for assistance.

Versions 20.3.5 and later:

  • Server licenses are no longer tied to a particular Windows user, but they are still tied to the machine name.
  • Designer and MyAssistant licenses are still tied to both Windows user and machine name.

All MyAssistant licenses can now be moved up to 3 times without being released first. When activating the key on a new machine (Server or Designer) or user (Designer), it will automatically deactivate the prior machine or user.

If you need to move a license more than 3 times, you must contact Sage Support for assistance, as the license will have to be manually released.
