What happens when I run Close Current Period in Property Management at the start of a new fiscal year?

Resolution

These tasks are in addition to the tasks performed during Close Current Period:

  • Advances Fiscal Year End Date on the property.
  • Changes the totals on the Miscellaneous Income records:
    • Income Last Year is set to the value that was in Income YTD.
    • Income YTD is set to the value that was in Income Next Year.
    • Income Next Year is set to zero.
    • If Taxes are tracked on Miscellaneous Income:
      • Taxes Last Year is set to the value that was Taxes YTD.
      • Taxes YTD is set to the value that was in Taxes Next Year.
      • Taxes Next Year is set to zero.
  • Deletes old Property Fiscal Year Occupancy records based on number of years you retain occupancy.
  • Deletes old Property Fiscal Year Accumulator records based on number of years you retain each accumulator.
  • Deletes old Unit Fiscal Year Accumulator records based on number of years you retain each accumulator.
  • Deletes old Lease Fiscal Year Accumulator records based on number of years you retain each accumulator.
  • Deletes old Lease Recovery Expense Amount records.

Notes:

  • Occupancy records are retained for the number of years you specify in Setup, Properties, General tab, Occupancy tab. If you specify zero years, occupancy records are retained indefinitely.
  • Accumulator records are retained for the number of years you specify for each accumulator in Setup, Accumulator Controls. If you specify zero years, accumulator records are retained indefinitely.
