Both of the following conditions must apply:
- Must have applicable Years to Retain eFile Check History set in Payroll Options (default=4 years) see steps below
- The form tax year has not been updated to the new tax year
- Example: Wanting to print the 941 Form for 2021 tax year, when the actual 941 Form has been updated to 2022 tax year. Even though the form itself will show 2022, the data that populates into the form will be from tax year 2021.
How to set Years to Retain eFile Check History in Payroll Options:
- Open Payroll, Setup, Payroll Options
- On the Main tab, select applicable year to Retain eFiling check history

- Enter the number of years, from 4 through 99, to retain eFiling check history. A minimum of 4 years must be entered to retain current and prior years history. Check history that is past the number of years to retain is purged during year-end processing.
- Click Accept
How to Print Prior Quarter 941 after Quarter has been Closed:
- Open, Payroll, Period End, Federal and State Tax Reporting.
- Select Form Type 'Federal' and Form Name 'xxxx 941/Schedule B/941-V Report' (xxxx=tax year)
- In the Reporting area, enter applicable Tax Year and select applicable Quarter from drop down
- NOTE: You must select a form before you are able to change the quarter field, note if the form is an annual form than the Quarter field will be disabled
- Click Accept
