Select Create from the File menu in Financial Statement Designer Financial Statement Designer can generate four default financial statement designs and an accumulator as follows:
- Net income accumulator (used on the balance sheet design)
- Income statement design
- Balance sheet design
- Trial balance design
- Monthly budget comparison design
The names of the default statement designs and the net income accumulator when using the accrual accounting method are as follows:
- Default Net Income - Accrual
- IncSAccr.fsd
- BalSAccr.fsd
- TbalAccr.fsd
- CompAccr.fsd
The names of the default statement designs and the net income accumulator when using the cash accounting method are as follows:
- Default Net Income - Cash
- IncSCash.fsd
- BalSCash.fsd
- TbalCash.fsd
- CompCash.fsd
If using both the cash and accrual accounting methods, you have the option of creating one or both sets of default financial statement designs. Create the default financial statement designs as follows:
Note: If the default designs already exist, Financial Statement Designer overwrites them when you follow the steps below. If you have modified the default designs, save them with a new name (File, Save As) before following the steps below.
- In Financial Statement Designer, click File, Open and select a design.
- Click File, Save As and enter a new name.
- Repeat steps 1 and 2 for each canned design. See above list for the design names.
- In Financial Statement Designer, from File, select Create.
- Click Yes on each message for the designs you are updating and the canned net accumulator. Click Cancel for the designs you aren't updating or designs you didn't make a backup for.
- Close all open financial statement design windows.
- Exit Financial Statement Designer.
Financial Statement Designer verifies your current chart of accounts in General Ledger to determine the appropriate account ranges for the different sections on the designs and to create the net income accumulator.
