The following formats are valid for Estimated Life:
- YYMM - Example: 3106 for 31 years 6 months, 0011 for 11 months, or 0006 for 6 months
- YMM - Example: 506 for 5 year 6 months
- Y - Example: 5 for 5 years
To make Leading zeros appear and save in Excel: - Highlight the Estimated Life column.
- Either go to: Home tab, Cells, click Format and select Format Cells or right click the column letter and select Format Cells.
- Under Category, select Custom.
- In the Type: field, type 0000 (4 zeroes)
- Click OK.
- Save Spreadsheet as *.CSV.
- Close Excel.
Note: If the CSV file is opened in Excel after the process above the formatting that was set will be ignored and will have to be re-done. If the CSV file is opened in Notepad, the format set in the process above is retained. [BCB:165:Chat Fixed Assets US:ECB]
