Resolution
The following formats are valid for Estimated Life:

  • YYMM - Example: 3106 for 31 years 6 months, 0011 for 11 months, or 0006 for 6 months
  • YMM - Example: 506 for 5 year 6 months
  • Y - Example: 5 for 5 years

To make Leading zeros appear and save in Excel:

  1. Highlight the Estimated Life column.
  2. Either go to: Home tab, Cells, click Format and select Format Cells or right click the column letter and select Format Cells.
  3. Under Category, select Custom.
  4. In the Type: field, type 0000 (4 zeroes)
  5. Click OK.
  6. Save Spreadsheet as *.CSV.
  7. Close Excel.

Note: If the CSV file is opened in Excel after the process above the formatting that was set will be ignored and will have to be re-done. If the CSV file is opened in Notepad, the format set in the process above is retained.
