Review the exceptions
When you make a File Tools backup, a red circle indicates the validation completed with exceptions. Any exceptions appear in the window so that you can fix the issue prior to continuing the process. If any duplicate files exist in the folder where you selected to restore your data, you have the opportunity to specify whether to not restore the duplicate files or overwrite the existing files as follows:
- From the exceptions screen, click Next.
- Specify whether you want to skip or overwrite the duplicate file as follows:
- Select a file and click Skip to not restore the file and change the State to Skip.
- Select a file and click Overwrite to overwrite the existing file and change the State to Overwrite.
- Click Overwrite All to overwrite all duplicate files and change their State to Overwrite.
- Click Skip All to not restore any duplicate files and change their State to Skip.
- Continue restoring as usual. For information on how to restore a backup created with File Tools, select the link below.
