| How do I restore a backup that I created using File Tools? (Pervasive) |

Warning: Do not restore a backup over the top of your existing files. Either rename the live data folder and restore the backup to that location or restore the backup to a new location. See Related Resources below for additional information. Partial Restores are not recommended.
Note: Review How do I restore my data files? for information on procedures to restore your data files. A File Tools backup saves your data files in a compressed file with a .tszip2 extension. To maintain your files with File Tools, verify Hide Extensions for known file types is not selected in Windows Explorer. Review File Tools did not back up all my files.
- Make a current back up of your data before proceeding. See How to Back up Company data with System Administrator including SQL Replicator.
- Open File Tools:
- In Sage 300 CRE, go to Tools, File Tools.
- In Estimating, Buyout, or Estimating Tools, go to File, File Tools.
- Select Restore and click Next.
- Click Browse and then browse to and select the .tszip2 file that you want to restore.
- Click Open and click Next.
- Review the list of files to restore. The State column indicates whether to extract or skip a file. You can extract or skip files as follows:
- Select a file and click Skip to not restore the file and change the State to Skip.
- Select a file and click Extract to restore the file and change the State to Extract.
- Click Extract All to restore all files and change their State to Extract.
- Click Browse and then browse to and select the folder where you want to restore your data files.
Tip: Click Make New Folder to create a new folder to restore to. - Click OK and then click Next to begin the validation process. Review the link below for information on file validations.
Note: A green circle indicates the validation completed successfully. A red circle indicates the validation completed with exceptions. - Click Next and review the list of files. The State column indicates whether to include or skip a file. You can include or skip files as follows:
- Select a file and click Skip to exclude the file and change the State to Skip
- Select a file and click Include to include the file and change the State to Include
- Click Include All to include all files and change their State to Include
- Click Skip All to skip all files and change their State to Skip
- Click Next
- Verify that the information in the Execution Summary window is correct. If not, click Back to make corrections.
- Click Next to restore your files.
- Review the information in the Operation Journal window.
- To print your journal to a file or printer, select Summary or Detail from the list. Your choice depends on the level of detail that you want to see. Click Save to send to a text file. Click Print to send to a printer.
- Click Finish.
