  3. Click Browse.
  4. Locate and select the .tszip file that you want to restore.
  5. Click Open and then click Next.
  6. Review the list of files to restore. The State column indicates whether to extract or skip a file. You can extract or skip files as follows:
    • Select a file and click Skip to not restore the file and change the State to Skip
    • Select a file and click Extract to restore the file and change the State to Extract
    • Click Extract All to restore all files and change their State to Extract
    • Click Skip All to not restore all files and change their State to Skip
  7. Click Browse.
  8. Locate and select the folder where you want to restore your data files.
Tip: Click Make New Folder to create a new folder to restore to.
  9. Click OK.
  10. Click Next to begin the validation process.
Note: A green circle indicates successful validation. A red circle indicates validation completed with exceptions.
    • Scan file system to build file list - uses the selected folders and files to build a list of files to back up
    • Validate data files - scans the selected files and folders to verify that the data structure is intact, that all required data components are present
    • Check for files that might be overwritten - verifies whether any files in the file list already exist. This applies more to the Restore, Copy, and Move operations than the Backup operation
    • Ensure that files are not in use - verifies whether any files in the file list are in use
    • Verify that space is available for the operation - verifies whether sufficient disk space is available
  11. Click Next and review the list of files. The State column indicates whether to include or skip a file. The Skip/Include process is the same as Skip/Extract in Step 6.
  12. Click Next.
  13. Verify that the information in the Execution Summary window is correct. If not, click Back to make corrections.
  14. Click Next to restore your files.
  15. Review the information in the Operation Journal window.
  16. Select Summary or Detail from the list depending on the detail that you want to see on your journal.
  17. Click Save to save the journal to a text file. Click Print to print your journal to a printer.
  18. Click Finish.

Add data folder:

  2. Choose the Specify Folders button on the Select Company window.
  3. Type in or copy the path to the data folder or click the Browse button and locate your data folder.
  4. Click to highlight your data folder.
  5. Click OK through the prompts until the company folder shows up in the list.

Update Company Settings:

  1. Go to File, Open Company.
  2. Select your new company.
  3. Remove file locations so you do not affect live data: File, Company Settings, File Location, clear paths under the Data Folder column, except for Reports.
  4. Allow access to the new company: Sage Desktop, Tools, Security Administration, Security Permission by Type, Company, to grant access to this company folder to the appropriate users.
  5. Verify that test data settings are correct, for example, formatting, posting settings, accounting methods, etc.
