[BCB:1:Backup warning:ECB] Restore from backup: - Locate the backup to restore. Double click on the file and it will open File Tools.
- Select Restore and click Next.
- Click Browse.
- Locate and select the .tszip file that you want to restore.
- Click Open and then click Next.
- Review the list of files to restore. The State column indicates whether to extract or skip a file. You can extract or skip files as follows:
- Select a file and click Skip to not restore the file and change the State to Skip
- Select a file and click Extract to restore the file and change the State to Extract
- Click Extract All to restore all files and change their State to Extract
- Click Skip All to not restore all files and change their State to Skip
- Click Browse.
- Locate and select the folder where you want to restore your data files.
Tip: Click Make New Folder to create a new folder to restore to. - Click OK.
- Click Next to begin the validation process.
Note: A green circle indicates successful validation. A red circle indicates validation completed with exceptions. - Scan file system to build file list - uses the selected folders and files to build a list of files to back up
- Validate data files - scans the selected files and folders to verify that the data structure is intact, that all required data components are present
- Check for files that might be overwritten - verifies whether any files in the file list already exist. This applies more to the Restore, Copy, and Move operations than the Backup operation
- Ensure that files are not in use - verifies whether any files in the file list are in use
- Verify that space is available for the operation - verifies whether sufficient disk space is available
- Click Next and review the list of files. The State column indicates whether to include or skip a file. The Skip/Include process is the same as Skip/Extract in Step 6.
- Click Next.
- Verify that the information in the Execution Summary window is correct. If not, click Back to make corrections.
- Click Next to restore your files.
- Review the information in the Operation Journal window.
- Select Summary or Detail from the list depending on the detail that you want to see on your journal.
- Click Save to save the journal to a text file. Click Print to print your journal to a printer.
- Click Finish.
Add data folder: - Go to File, Open Company.
- Choose the Specify Folders button on the Select Company window.
- Type in or copy the path to the data folder or click the Browse button and locate your data folder.
- Click to highlight your data folder.
- Click OK through the prompts until the company folder shows up in the list.
Update Company Settings: - Go to File, Open Company.
- Select your new company.
- Remove file locations so you do not affect live data: File, Company Settings, File Location, clear paths under the Data Folder column, except for Reports.
- Allow access to the new company: Sage Desktop, Tools, Security Administration, Security Permission by Type, Company, to grant access to this company folder to the appropriate users.
- Verify that test data settings are correct, for example, formatting, posting settings, accounting methods, etc.
