Resolution | Error occurs on one workstation Verify and correct the Windows regional setting - On the computer where you're experiencing this issue, open the Windows Control Panel.
- Double-click Regional and Language Options.
- On the Administrative tab, click the "Change system locale..." button.
- Verify that you selected English (United States), English (Canadian), or English (Australia) under the Current system locale.
- If the setting is incorrect, select the correct language setting and restart the computer.
Error occurs on multiple workstations or on the server Correct the selected country and reinstall The steps provided here are specific to correcting the Sage 300 CRE install on the server. It's necessary to reinstall Sage as part of this process. - Have all operators exit all Sage 300 CRE and Sage Estimating applications.
- Make a backup of all Sage 300 CRE program and data files.
- Log on the Sage 300 CRE server as an administrator.
- Launch Sage Desktop and go to Help, About Desktop. Make a note of the exact version, revision, and update that shows up in the parenthesis, such as (23.1.1 Update 1). Don't skip this step.
- Use Windows Explorer to locate the MISC folder, which by default is located at C:\ProgramData\Sage\Timberline Office\9.5\Accounting\Misc.
- In the MISC folder, open the Country.txt file with Notepad. This file may not show an extension if your Windows Explorer settings don't show known extensions.
- The Country.txt file should have a single line for the currently installed country name, such as United States, Australia, or Canada.
- If the file shows the wrong country, make a backup copy of the Country.txt file.
- Use Notepad to edit the Country.txt file and enter the correct country. Enter United States, Australia, or Canada as appropriate.
- Open the Windows Registry Editor and browse to:
- 64-bit systems: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Timberline\OfficeInstall\Accounting\[version]\
- 32-bit systems: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Timberline\OfficeInstall\Accounting\[version]\
NOTE: Depending on the version of Sage 300 CRE you are on, the [version] appears in a different format, such as 15.1.0. - Locate the Registry string value of SoftwareCountry and make sure it's set correctly (1= USA, 2=Canada, 3=AUS).
- From the Windows Start menu, select Control Panel, Programs and Features and uninstall Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate Server.
- Locate your Sage 300 CRE install package or a download with the exact version and revision in step 4 above.
CAUTION: Use the same version you had installed previously to perform the next step. Don't use any other version or revision. - Reinstall Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate at the server by running Install.exe. Enter the appropriate registration name and activation codes when prompted.
- Reboot the server as necessary and log back into Windows as the same Windows username used to perform the install. Don't log in as a different Windows username.
- Apply the exact update noted in step 4 above.
