How do I redo a finished Cash Management bank reconciliation?

Resolution

1. Finish in-progress reconciliations

Finish any reconciliations you have in progress before proceeding with the following steps.

2. Back up your data

3. Print the Reconciliation Register report

  1. From Reports, select Registers, Reconciliation Register.
  2. Click OK.
  3. Enter the Statement date of the reconciliation you want to redo.
  4. Click Ranges to select the bank account, then click OK.
  5. Click Print Preview.
  6. Verify the report contains all the transactions for the bank reconciliation you want to redo.
  7. Click Close.
  8. Click Start to print the report to a file or printer.

4. Adjust your Cash Management settings

  1. From File, select Company Settings, CM Settings.
  2. Select the Override opening balance in Reconcile check box.
  3. Select the Allow reconciliation status change in Register check box.
  4. Click OK.

5. Un-reconcile the transactions for the bank reconciliation that you want to redo

  1. From Tasks, select Edit Register.
  2. Select the correct bank account and then click OK.
  3. Refer to the report you printed in Step 2.
  4. Browse to one of the transactions on the report, and then click ...>.
  5. Under Reconciled, in the Status list, select O, and click OK.
  6. Repeat Steps 5.4 and 5.5 for each transaction on the report.
  7. Click Finish, then click Start to print the journal. You don’t need to select the Post Entries check box.

6. Note your previous reconciled balance and reconciled date

  1. From Setup, select Bank Accounts.
  2. Select the bank account.
  3. Make note of the Last reconciled date and Last reconciled balance.
  4. Click Close.

7. Redo your bank reconciliation

  1. From Tasks, select Reconcile.
  2. Enter the Statement opening balance and Statement ending balance for the month of the bank reconciliation. Refer to the bank statement for that month.
  3. Enter the correct Statement date for the bank reconciliation and click OK.
  4. Reconcile the appropriate transactions and click Finish.
  5. Click Start to print the reconciliation journal.

8. Restore your previous reconciled balance and date

Note: If you’re redoing the most recent bank reconciliation, skip to step 9.

  1. From Tasks, select Reconcile.
  2. Enter the Last reconciled balance noted above in the Statement opening balance and Statement ending balance box.
  3. Enter the Last reconciled date noted above in the Statement date box.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Don’t reconcile or mark any transactions. The Difference should be zero (0.00).
  6. Click Finish.
  7. Click Start to print the reconciliation journal.

9. Restore your Cash Management settings

  1. From File, select Company Settings, CM Settings.
  2. Clear the Override opening balance in Reconcile check box.
  3. Clear the Allow reconciliation status change in Register check box.
  4. Click OK.
