| | Customizing an Accounts Payable check face or stub format |
| Resolution | Information - All printers align differently. Use the printer you used when printing the test sample sheet during print samples.
- Changing printers can change the alignment and printing of the checks.
- Use the Enter or Tab keys to move through the different sections of the window.
- Accounts Payable settings (File, Company Settings, AP Settings) determine the availability of some fields.
Identify the check format used on your bank account - In Cash Management from Setup, select Bank Accounts.
- Select the bank, and note the AP Check Format selected on the General tab.
To modify an Accounts Payable check format
- In Accounts Payable from Tools, select Check Formats.
- Click List, select the check format, and click OK.
- To edit the check face, click Edit face.
- Clear the check face instructions: Click Other, double-click Clear face format, and click Yes.
- Restore the default check face format: Click Other, double-click Reset to default face format and click Yes.
- Copy the face format from an existing check format: Click Other, double-click Copy from another face format, and click Yes.
- Add a field to the check face: Click Create field. Each field can only appear on the check face once. Place your cursor where you want the beginning of the field to be.
- Delete a field: Select a field and click Clear field.
- Move a field: Drag it with your mouse. You can also click Move Field and use the arrow keys to move the field.
- Change the number of lines: Click Check depth to specify the number of lines on your check face. Only change the default value when specifically instructed.
- Change the length of a field: Select a field and click Edit field. Some fields aren’t editable.
- Print a sample check with your changes: Click Print sample.
- Click OK to close the Check Face Format window.
- To edit the check stub, click Edit stub:
- Clear the check stub instructions: Click Other, double-click Clear stub format, and click Yes.
- Restore the default check stub format: Click Other, double-click Reset to default stub format, and click Yes.
- Copy the stub format from an existing check format: Click Other, double-click Copy from another stub format and click Yes.
- Add a field to the check stub: Click Create field. Each field can only appear on the check stub once. Place your cursor where you want the beginning of the field to be.
- Delete a field: Select a field and click Clear field. If this is an amount column field, clear the total field in the footer for this column.
- Move a field: Drag it with your mouse.
- Change the number of lines: Click Header depth, Body depth, or Footer depth to specify the number of lines for each stub area. Only change the default values when specifically instructed.
- Change the length of a field: Select a field and click Edit field. Some fields aren't available to edit.
- Print a sample check with your changes: Click Print sample.
- Click OK to close the Check Stub Format window.
- Click OK, then click Close.
