Only descriptions that match the original short description are updated when the 'Apply' option is used in Main Account Maintenance and Sub Account Maintenance. No other descriptions will be updated.

For example:

• Currently in GL>Main>Account Maintenance the following accounts have the following descriptions:
  • 105-01-001 Cash on Hand
  • 105-01-002 Cash on Hand-East
• Original short description for main account "105" was “Cash on Hand”
• In Main Account Maintenance select account 105 and changed the short description from "Cash on Hand" to "Cash on Hand-Test".
• Clicked 'Apply'
• Open GL, Main, Account Maintenance, select account "105-01-001" and the short description was updated to be Cash on Hand-Test
• But account "105-01-002” description was not updated and still shows "Cash on Hand-East" because the ORIGINAL description was manually changed in GL>Main>Account Maintenance
