| How to change General Ledger account description and apply changes |

Modify account information and apply the changes in Main Account Maintenance or Sub Account Maintenance. Note: Not all fields can be applied. Click the 'Apply' button in Main Account Maintenance or Sub Account Maintenance to see the list of fields that can be applied. For detailed information, click the 'Help' (?) button within the window and select 'Change a xxx account and apply changes'.
Main Account Maintenance: - Open General Ledger, Setup, Main Account Maintenance.
- Select Main Account look up button and select the account to be modified.
- Modify the desired field or fields.
Note: Changes to the 'Short Description' field can be applied, but changes to the 'Description' field cannot (the 'Description' field in the 'Apply Changes' window actually refers to the 'Short Description' field). - Click the Apply button, and click Yes at the "Do you want to save changes?" prompt. The 'Apply Changes' window appears.
- Select the Apply check box for any fields that have the 'Modified' check box selected, as desired.
Note: The 'Modified' check box is automatically selected for any modified field that can be applied. - Click Proceed button.
Sub Account Maintenance: - Open General Ledger, Setup, Sub Account Maintenance
- Select the segment to be modified from the 'Segment' drop-down box.
- Click Sub Account look up button, and select the sub account to be modified.
- Modify desired field or fields.
Note: Changes to the 'Short Description' field can be applied, but changes to the 'Description' field cannot. - Click Apply button, and click Yes at the "Do you want to save changes?" prompt. The 'Apply Changes' window appears.
- Select the Apply check box for any fields that have the 'Modified' check box selected, as desired.
Note: The 'Modified' check box is automatically selected for any modified field that can be applied. - Click Proceed button.
