Cause | - Wrong serial number
- Dashes not being used
- Space is present
- Letters being used in place of numbers
- Setup wizard is for another version of Sage 50
- Incorrect link used to download wrong set of installation files
- Trying to upgrade to a higher release of Sage from inside the current release of Sage 50

Resolution | - Verify the serial number used is correct
- Verify that serial number is being entered correctly
- Verify that the setup wizard is for the correct version of Sage 50 being installed
- Verify the correct download link was used for downloading installation file
- Contact Customer Service to generate a new serial number if the error message still occurs
- If trying to upgrade to a higher release of Sage 50, you first need to download and install the new version as the new serial number to upgrade should be entered during the install process
