Error: "Entries for control accounts are not allowed in General Ledger"
Description
Cause
The account is marked as a Control account in the Account setup.
A control account is normally used for entries created in another application such as Accounts Payable or Payroll. If a General Ledger account is specified as a control account, you may prevent entries from being made to the account directly in General Ledger. This assures that the control account remains in balance with the interfacing applications.
Resolution
You must change the control account setting to record entries to control accounts in General Ledger. To correct entries in a control account you may want to record an entry in the correct interfacing application. See the article 18539 "DocLink: What are Control Accounts?" for more details.

If you need to record an entry to a control account for error correction, see the article 27846 "DocLink: How do I record an entry to a control account in General Ledger?" for more information.
