Printing screen hangs when printing, another version of Crystal Reports Designer or a Crystal Reports runtime engine is also installed on the same machine
Description
Cause
  • This issue has occured when a PATH listed in Environmental Variables contain CRUFL*.dll file(s) (i.e. C:\Windows\system32\, C:\Windows\Crystal\...)
  • There may be a conflict with 3rd party applications that installed its own Crystal User Function Library (CRUFL) file . It may also be that the 3rd party application was installed with a very old version of Crystal Runtime Engine that causes conflict with the newer Crystal Runtime Engine used by Sage 300 ERP.
  • This issue can also occur if any of the following program are installed on the same machine.  PFW Platinum, Batchmaster, Centurion, ID Automation, Ceridian, JobBoss ERP and Financial Edge are some of the programs that have resulted in the Sage has stopped Responding message.
Resolution
[BCB:4:Operating system warning:ECB]
[BCB:5:Third-party support:ECB]

Note: The following resolution steps assume that another version of Crystal Reports Designer or a Crystal Reports run-time engine may be installed, such as Batchmaster.

  1. For Sage 100, the quick workaround is to rename the file, cruflbatchmaster.dll located in:
    • For 64-bit workstations: "C:\Windows\SysWOW64"
    • For 32-bit workstations: "C:\Windows\SysWOW64"
  2. Temporarily rename the file indicated above
  3. Try printing from Sage 100
  4. If issue no longer occurs the client will need to decide how to proceed as these programs need to be on different machines because of the differences in the version of Crystal that is used for each program
  5. Check SAP website for any updates that might resolve this issue
  6. If both programs need to run on the machine a batch file could be created that renames the file back and forth as needed depending on the software package they are working in at the time
    • Note: This requires knowledge of how to create a batch file to operate within MS-DOS. Sage Customer Support cannot assist with this. A qualified technician or systems administrator may need to be consulted.
