The only supported email services are ISG MAPI and Microsoft Outlook

Resolution

If using Microsoft Outlook

Follow each option below to troubleshoot issues emailing from Microsoft Outlook

Open Outlook program

  • You must have Microsoft Outlook open before emailing from Sage BusinessWorks

Verify the version of Outlook

Run Microsoft Outlook as Administrator

  • Contact your system administrator to change your Microsoft Outlook settings

Check Windows Default Programs

  • In your Windows search type Control Panel and select it from the search results
    • Select Default Programs
    • If you see two instances of Microsoft Outlook, make sure you select the correct version as default

Remote Desktop

  • Make sure the remote server has a local installation of Microsoft Outlook

Customized Install of Microsoft Outlook

  • Customized installation of Microsoft Outlook will cause the e-mail feature to fail
  • Reinstall the complete version of Microsoft Outlook

Run the Sage BusinessWorks program as Administrator

  1. Right-click on the Sage BusinessWorks icon on your Windows desktop.
  2. Select Run as Administrator.

Test MAPI functionality

  1. Right-click a document on the desktop of the PC that's having email issues.
  2. Select Send to > Mail Recipient.
  3. Check if an email window opens with the file attached.
    • If it does, MAPI is working correctly
    • If it fails, contact your System Administrator to reinstall MAPI or Outlook to replace the damaged file

The E-mail program isn't MAPI-compliant

  • Check with your System Administrator to make sure your email program is MAPI-compliant

Clear TEMP files

  • On the computer having email issues, go to c:\Users\AppData\Local|Temp
  • Clear the files from the TEMP folder

Alternative method for emailing reports

  1. Preview the report to the screen.
  2. Select Publish Icon on report preview you use to publish the report to Word..
    • Select the location to save your file
    • Enter a File name if desired
      Publish To Word window. The screen allows you to select the path to save the file and change the file name.
  3. Open your email program and attach the Microsoft Word document.
