How to resolve e-mail issues on reports and forms
Description
  • If you've installed MAPI files but the e-mail continues to fail, your Mapi32.dll file is damaged
  • The E-mail Forms feature requires that your e-mail client application be a desktop mail client that’s MAPI-compliant
  • For Sage BusinessWorks 2021 and newer, the only supported email services are ISG MAPI and Microsoft Outlook
Issues you encounter:
  • Can’t send email reports
  • "Server send error" displays
  • MAPI issues when emailing
Cause
Resolution
  1. The only fully supported email client is Microsoft Outlook - Classic. If using New Outlook, switch back to the Classic version.
    • In the upper right of your Microsoft Outlook, ensure Try the new Outlook shows Off
    • If the new Outlook shows, click it to change back to the original Outlook
  2. To test MAPI functionality right-click on a document on the desktop of the PC having the issue emailing and select Send to, Mail Recipient. If MAPI is functioning correctly, the email will display on the screen with the file attached.
  3. An email program that isn’t MAPI-compliant or a damaged MAPI installation is causing the issue.
    • Work with your system administrator or IT professional
    • If you have MAPI files installed but the e-mail continues to fail, reinstall Outlook to replace the damaged file
  4. Run the Sage BusinessWorks program as Administrator if running on Windows 10.
    • Right-click on the Sage BusinessWorks icon on the Windows desktop
    • Select Run as Administrator
  5. Try running Microsoft Outlook as Administrator. Contact your system administrator for assistance on changing your Microsoft Outlook settings.
  6. Customized installation of Microsoft Outlook will cause the e-mail feature to fail. Reinstall the complete version of Microsoft Outlook.
  7. Check the default programs in the Windows Control Panel, Default Programs. If you see two instances of Microsoft Outlook, verify you select the correct version as default.
  8. If you’re using Remote Desktop, ensure that the remote server has a local installation of Microsoft Outlook.
  9. Clear TEMP files in the c:\Users\AppData\Local\Temp folder on the computer receiving the errors.
  10. If you continue to have issues emailing a report.
    • Preview the report
    • In preview, select Publish and publish the report to Microsoft Word
    • Then open your email system and attach the Microsoft Word document
